In my family, when you ask my grandparents what they would like to do for a get-together, they say "work". They always have activities for us to do there and projects to finish and start. So yesterday, my Auntie Kathy, Uncle Neil, Mom, Dad, Maren, Isaac and I went to our Grandma Jo and Papa's house to have a work party.
We had a nice brunch after church and then started our work with painting the windowsills.

Isaac worked outside (in the rain) |
|
Uncle Neil worked in the bathroom with electricity |
|
Grandma supervised. |
Then, as we always do after a work time, it was time for coffee break and a good card game!
|
We played one of my favorite games "Box" |
After that, we all went home and Dad changed the oil in the car.....some father's day for him, eh? But he really wanted to, so I guess it was okay. :)
How do you play box?
ReplyDeleteIts a card game and you have to make sets of card starting with 7. You have to build them up going both ways. So after a 7 is put down, you would put down a 6 then an 8 and then you would put down 5, 4, 3, or 9, 10, J, etc. The goal is to get rid of your cards. If you can't go, you get "the box" and you can't play until someone else can't go so then they have the box.
DeleteIt's hard to explain, but I can teach you sometime!
