Mom, Andrea, Grandma Day and I left at about 8:40 this morning and were promptly turned around as soon as we got onto the freeway because of forgotten items.
After our 2nd attempt of boarding the road of cement that is supposed to lead to places in the world, we were on our way.
We dropped Andrea off in Seattle to visit and friend while Grandma Day and Mom and I continued on to Olympia and had lunch with Natalie. From there, we headed on, still farther, to Vancouver, WA --our destination.
There we left Grandma with her sister.
Great Aunt Mildred (we call her aunt Mildred or Millie) is 10 years older than Grandma. But is in muuuuuch much much better shape.
She goes swimming once a week (for 30 minutes with no stopping), does a yoga thing, prefers taking stairs, takes long walks and looooves to go bowling. This is a 98 year old woman's we're talking about here! 98!!!
Mom and I got lost a little trying to find Costco, Fred Meyer, bathrooms, etc. in and around Vancouver.
We headed back to the cement playground called Seattle and met Andrea and her friend, Linnea, for dinner. (TACOS!) then we were headed back home.
You know in the last post I told you what I saw? Well this is what my car ride "when I'm bored, look for these" notebook page looked like:
-Lizards: 0
-Drivers on cell phones: 6
-Cows: 22
-Buffalo: 12
-People dancing in their car: 4
-Hairbands on the road: 2
-License plates beginning with "A": 242
-Out of state cars: 101
-Drivers with beards: 43
-Drivers who probably had beards at one time: 64
-U-haul trucks: 17
-Drivers wearing sunglasses: 23
-Irish looking drivers: 13
So you see, there are lots of things to look for when you're bored in the car! :) "License plates beggining with 'A" was definitely the most popular!
I had fun because I love long car rides.
Thanks for coming with me! :)
Some funny rivers we crossed were:
•"Toutle River" pronounced "tootle"
•"Coweeman River"
•"Skookumchuck River"
Cutest thing I saw was: My Hefalump animal cracker! :)
Most beautiful things I saw were: Flowers I collected from Natalie's garden!
Funniest thing I saw: someone trying to calm down their crying baby by shoving French fries up his nose to make it laugh.
Adventures are fun! I like them. I want to go on them more often!
I was told 4 times this week that I was thought of when seeing the main girl character in the new movie "Hugo". Even Maren thought so when she saw it! But I don't see a resemblance...

:D When I first saw that picture of the sign, I though it said: "Future President Parking."
