Pray that I can feel better so that I won't have to miss Science and Babysitting tomorrow! And just so that I won't feel gross so that I can smell flowers again!
I went for a run today which really felt good. I was surprised that, after not running for a couple weeks, when I went running on Friday, I felt good and I didn't have to stop or anything! So now my goal is to run everyday (So far so good! :) so that my body can get used to it more. But actually, it isn't my legs or muscles or anything, its my lungs! My lungs need to get re-used to taking deep breaths and to the cold air outside!
I'm glad that God gave me the ambition to run and the body that appreciates it, because it really makes my body feel good. I'm not sure if you've ever felt that way, but it's a good, fresh feeling. And it makes me feel like my life isn't based on sitting on the couch doing homework! :)
I'm thinking about doing Cross-Country at Fairhaven Middle School (They mixed around their dates, so instead of track in the spring, they're doing Cross-Country.) with a friend of mine this spring! I'm not sure if I will yet...what's the difference *exactly* between Track and Cross-Country besides running longer? Like, how long is it? Is it around the track or on real terrain? (Ham and Sar, I had you in mind when asking this question, but it's open for anyone to answer because my family doesn't know! :)

Thanks, God, for the air.
About the Cross country, My mom said it would probably be on trails.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way today too! I mean with the stuffed nose!
ReplyDelete*clears throat, pushes spectacles up on nose* (just kidding. But I am passionate about this subject.)
ReplyDeleteCross Country: indeed, mostly on trails. Occasionally we'll train around a track for a work out, but all the races are generally 100% trail-ish. :) I really like cross country, and I prefer it over track. It is a bit less intense than track, but it is a REALLY *GREAT* (!!!)team sport. Plus, in Bham, the trails are great and beautiful and you go all over da place.
Track: is fun, and I personally think that in training, you have a higher expectation for... performance, i guess!??! (?? Maybe, not really sure how to explain.) It's a really great way to stay in shape (I am doing track for cross country- most people are the other way around because cross country is such a great training-prepare-etc sport)The training level is more "intense". (One of my teachers, who is a coach for XC but not track said "Exactly. You hit the nail on the head with that one, Sarah.")
I did track in 7th and 8th grade and I would highly recommend doing track in middle school because you get an idea of track for high school, because cross country is less intense and so if you go in to track for HS expecting the same as XC, it might be a huge adjustment for you. (The generic you, not the Leah-you). :D RANDOM NEWS FLASH: I AM EATING A STRANGE DESSERT-Y THING. 'TIS GOOD.)
But all things considered, you are an excellent athlete and both sports will be fantastic for you. I hope I have not bored you or made you more unsure of what to do! Love ya. :)
Wow that was really long. 8|
DeleteWell that.... just about summed that up. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah but the thing is, the only option I have before I go to Sehome is XC at Fairhaven Middle School! :(
ReplyDeleteWhen is track? (is there track?!?!?)
ReplyDeleteI'd go for it, if I were you. 'Yer a good kid, Leah. ;)
