Ow! ow! ow! ow!

Hey! guess what? da da ta da! I sprained my ankle! whoopee! It's so NOT FUN!! It hurts really bad!  You know that feeling where your bone isn't in the right place and you need to move it a certain way until you hear a little 'Snap'? Well, it kinda feels like that except a lot worse, because I can't move it to 'Snap' it, and I strained my left ligament, so it isn't the bone. So, The way it happened was I was going up the side of our house to tell my mom something. You know how the side of our house is a slanted hill? Well, Mom's compost pile is at the top. She was working in her compost pile and I walked up there to talk to her. When I had finished talking, I turned to go down the hill. However, Mom had failed to inform me that she had just dumped a bucket of compost water on the middle of the path and so it was all slippery and muddy. I slipped and my foot went out, but it went on it's side and the rest of my body was falling the other direction, so it got pulled. Or in more doctor language, I have a high sprain in my left ligament.  I can't put any weight on it, so I have crutches. When I was a kid, I always wanted to break my foot and get a cool colored bandage and have crutches, but as I was sitting on the x-ray table I was praying so hard it wasn't broken. I hate being disabled. It really stinks. When I was little I was like, "Oh, well if I broke my leg, I could get a lot of attention and get cool things from the doctor!" But it hurts really bad. Last night I was trying to sleep, but I couldn't. Isaac hasn't seen the movie "Tangled" and he want's to, so we got it and we're gonna watch it while I'm icing my foot. (that sounds like I'm frosting it!) Here are some pictures! You can see the swell!
P.S. While I was going up the hill, I was eating a Tootsie Pop, so I'm thankful I didn't lodge that down my throat! The funny thing is, When I stopped rolling down the hill I started whimpering "Mom! mom! mom! ow! ow!" and When my Mom came and helped me balance, the first thing I really  thought of was "My lollipop!" and I looked at it and it was covered in grass! It was pretty weird!

  1. Owch!!! I have never broken a bone or had a serious sprain. Once I knew a girl who was running and slipped onto her side (kind of like you did) and her ankle whet the other way. She found out a week later that she had broken bones! I thank God that you weren't hurt more seriously. Still, this is a little more serious than when you fell on the stairs to Scripsi....
