Koda!

So, I just went outside. That's what I do when I want to be in the wind or be by myself or look at the stars or talk to God or something.

Well, I had just finished talking to God about seeing the world through his eyes (Inspired by the Brother Bear song "Look through my eyes :) and to help me love everything because he created it. Even the little things.

Then, as I was walking inside, I saw our cat, Matti, crouching down next to something. I shooed her away and realized that she had caught a little tiny baby mouse. He has big ears and long feet.

I was about to just put him in the bush or the trash and walk away, but then I realized that he was still breathing.

Normally, I would put it in a bush. But hey, not only had I just watched the movie Brother Bear about loving even the little creatures, but I had also just finished talking to God about loving even the little creatures. So, being the Veterinarian's daughter that I am, I carefully put it in a box with a towel in it and now it is warming up in front of our fire.

He is super cute (as long as he keeps his mouth closed because he has really long fangs...) and I named him "Koda" (What?? It's a good name! Sure, it's from Brother Bear. I'm not obsessed.)!
he's the little thing huddling in the corner. He is trying to burrow as best he can.

I can picture a couple of you who read my blog thinking "Oh, that's gross!" but seriously! Have a heart! "A persons a person. No matter how small." (or mouse...)

Maybe this is God's first test for me. Loving a little baby mouse. It isn't hard because I love animals, but I can't help but wonder about the timing...
