Tacoma Trip

On Thursday Isaac, my Mom, our friends Isaiah, Sophie, and Emily all went to Tacoma to go to the museums there. We went to the Washington History Museum, the Art Museum (but only in the Norman Rockwell exhibit), and the Glass Blowing Museum (That one was my favorite!). It was really fun!! Here are some pictures of our trip!

And we're off!

The statue in front of the court house. (It used to be the Union Station, but they changed it.)

The glass blown hanging in the court house.

Another sculpture in the court house.

The glass bride that's over the freeway. It's not really made of glass, but there are a bunch of glass sculptures and things on it.  Now here are some pictures of the Museum Of Washington History:

Scary tribal masks at the museum of Washington History.

They had tons of people sculptures.

The old-fashioned Model T.

Wood block prints.

I took this one for Maren. This, to me, looked like our chicken, Frieda.

the boys playing with the phones. They had old-fashioned phones that, when you out them to your ear, played old radio shows.

Emily on the phone.

This was for the mummy that was there. There was this old guy who was from Tacoma and a looooooong time ago, he bought a mummy (back when you could do that) and donated it to this museum.

The thing itself. (So, we weren't supposed to take pictures, but like horrible little children, we devised a way to sneak some shots!)

The coffin.

"The Seal Of The State Of Washington" carved out of wood.

The actual covered wagon that Ezra Meeker rode in.  When it came time to cross a river, they took off the wheels and floated across . (If you don't know who Ezra Meeker is, don't ask me! that's all I know!)

At the museum of Art.

LUNCH BREAK!!!! YAY!! (I'm not too sure why Emily was kissing her camera...)

The sculpture on the glass bridge. Here are some pictures from the Museum Of Glass

the sculpture outside of the museum.

this was during a thing where they demonstrated how you blow glass. This guy, Daniel, was heating up his glass.

That, on the end if the rod, if the glass. right now they are shaping it.

Shaping...

Now, he's taking it off to put in the cooler. He has to wear that protective clothing because the glass is still like, 600 degrees.

Into the freezer.

And awesome glass hamburger!

I like this one!

Rubber ducks! Actually, they're glass, but- um, nevermind.

A bunch of glass-blown rings.

If you look past the wires, you can see the Tacoma Dome.

Owls!!! (also took for Maren)

Sophie and Emily in front of the sculpture.

This is the museum. we were inside that.

Walking back.

Sophie and I on the bride of glass.

Emily and I on the same bridge of glass.

The court house.

This one and the one below are pictures of the ceiling on the bridge of glass. It has a bunch of glass stuff inside the glass ceiling!!

Going to the car. In order from left to right: Emily, Me (Leah), and Sophie.

This is how crooked Mom parked. (oh well, I was the one directing her!)

Under the bush-trees!

On the way home we listened to Adventures In Odyssey and relaxed in the car! We were all pretty tired!

I hoped you enjoyed looking at the pictures as much as I did taking them! Emily, Sophie and I were going crazy taking pictures!! Happy Earth Day!! Love, Leah

  4. Yeah Sarah, I love that one too!! Thanks for all your comments! Mojo, The way we sneaked a picture was by me standing in the middle, and Sophie and Emily blocking the others vision of the camera so I could angle it weird and take a quick shot. We were so bad. I felt like I should've gone to jail or something...

  5. I guess they just don't want anyone to use flash photography and somehow like, damage the mummy and you probably won't go to jail....:)
Anyways, on a brighter note, I really liked all the pictures. I bet you guys got PRETTY hyper on the drive home!
